While I'm still back in high school I go to work summers, working for my father. He's a very successful stock trader. I begin by just running errands and filing things for him. I learn as much as I can, over time, and wind up being an even better stock trader than my father. While I'm still in high school I run the kind of savings a 14-year-old boy has into a several hundred thousand dollar stock portfolio.
My mother and father die in an airplane crash while I'm still in high school. Much of my parent's money goes to distant relatives and I have to support myself on my stock portfolio and the insurance money from the travel policy that my father bought just before the fatal flight. I become what's called an emancipated minor and I do quite well with my stock trading, managing to do a lot more than just support myself through the rest of high school.
Despite the fact that I'm just a student at the local high school, Henry becomes a fairly well known local businessman, due to my stock trading activities. As a result of my financial standing, I'm often involved in adult social activities.
