Real-life leaders must be flexible enough to know how assertive, flexible, decisive, and cooperative to be in any particular situation.

Leaders must be willing to commit to a choice considering how much information is available.

A perfect decision based on all the evidence a person could ask for is impossible because doing so would require knowing the future.

Leaders may develop an insulated mindset and think that their responsibilities end with their team members, but in reality they are often members of a larger team of team leaders that report to a higher leader

Sometimes, this planning process can become too focused on the goal of presenting the plan well, rather than improving the plan or making it more understandable.

Then those officers’ subordinates determine how their teams fit into that plan and what operations would accomplish the goal.

For the benefit of the team, that should be only one thing and the first task should be of the highest priority.

Simple plans and ideas are easier to communicate, easier for individuals with limited understanding of the team’s purpose to understand, and more flexible.

Then the stationary team will move forward and the first team to move will provide covering security.

That team member may also refuse to listen to other members’ ideas, move forward with a subpar idea, and shift blame when the idea is criticized.
