Archaeologists working in a field in the Highlands of Scotland find a strange pot. During the night it broken and an evil warrior by the name of Tarnus is released. Two children from the nearby village, Chas and Kirsty, suddenly find themselves in the middle of a life and death struggle between the ancient Powers of good and evil, a struggle in which they call the Hunter to their aid and Chas finds that there is more to his family than he ever dreamed possible.
