Jamie Mollart

Jamie Mollart is a British author, mentor, tutor, and advertising director renowned for his dystopian novels The Zoo and Kings of a Dead World, the latter earning critical acclaim and bestseller status with a special edition by Waterstones.

Jamie Mollart was born in a small village outside Leicester. He debuted with the novel The Zoo (2015), which earned a spot on the Amazon Rising Star list upon its release. In 2021, he released his second novel, Kings of a Dead World. This book became an Amazon bestseller and received an exclusive Waterstones edition with sprayed green edges.

Kings of a Dead World delves into a dystopian future where resources are scarce, and society has adopted The Sleep to conserve what's left. The novel follows the lives of a Janitor, Peruzzi, and an elderly Sleeper, Ben, as they navigate a world where existence is cyclical and controlled. Throughout his work, Molart meditates on responsibility, the value of time, and the extremes of human behavior without oversight.

His upcoming novel, Like Son, is complete, and his fourth book is in the works. In reflecting on his writing process, Mollart said, "I’ve always just written in the same way as I’ve always read."

Mollart is an award-winning marketer and runs his advertising agency. His creative talents have also led him to the film industry, where he wrote and produced his first feature film, The Unlock, now in post-production. He has won several accolades for adapting The Zoo, including first prize in the London Independent Story Prize and an Honourable Mention at the Los Angeles International Underground Film Festival.

As an active member of the Nottingham Writers Studio, Mollart extends his expertise as a mentor and tutor for Writing East Midlands. He is currently guiding two authors on their debut novels. He is also a member of the Climate Fiction Writers League, where he and other authors raise awareness of climate change through literature.

Jamie Mollart lives in a little village outside Leicester with his wife and two daughters. He is a director of an advertising agency by day.
