Geek + runway = a runaway UK hit! Geek Girl is the first book in a hilarious, internationally bestselling series that's perfect for fans of Louise Rennison and The Princess Diaries.
Harriet Manners is a geek. She always has been, and she thought she always would be—but when she's discovered by a modeling agent, she leaps at the chance to reinvent herself. There's only one problem: Harriet is the definition of awkward. Can she transform from geek to chic?

I really have to give it to the author. She did a great job of portraying a “geek” as the heroine. Seriously! She was a “geek” in every sense of the word without having to actually say it. Makes it even better that she’s about to have her life changed as a model. As for the story itself, it was pretty good.

Magic comes when you’re not looking for it.

all I can think is the following realisation: nobody really metamorphoses. Cinderella is always Cinderella, just in a nicer dress. The Ugly Duckling was always a swan, just a smaller version.

I realise: I didn’t need to transform after all.
My name is Harriet Manners and I am a geek.
And maybe that’s not so bad after all.
